April 2015

Wow... It's almost the end of April already. Time is going by so fast.

We are finally able to go outside in a light sweater and enjoy the fresh air.
Seems like summer is just around the corner, Sadie will finish her first year in school, and we will be on our yearly summer vacation at a cottage for the week. (which is always fun when we go with my parents and my sister and her fiancĂ©)

Letting the kids burn off some energy!

We've been having a hard time with Conner getting into the water during swimming lessons. For the first four lessons he would NOT pass the first step into the pool. But last Saturday, with a new MALE lifeguard, he actually spent the whole 30 mins letting the lifeguard take him into the water, blowing bubbles, teaching Conner how to doggy paddle, how to do the startfish and he even had Conner jumping into the pool. WOW (p.s. Conner is the one standing in the picture, sorry that the quality is bad I was on the other side of the pool)

We also helped my mom in her garden. My mom and kids did most of the work while I was enjoying a beer on the deck with my dad.

Happy 5th Birthday Sadie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last Saturday, Sadie had a couple of friends over from school to help celebrate her birthday. It was crazy, loud and very tiring but Sadie had a blast.

Then on Sunday, we went out for breakfast with my parents and my sister and her fiancé at the Gorge. Sadie loves it when we do birthday brunchs and she always has to wear the same outfit everytime.
After brunch we went to my place and Sadie got to open some presents.

Sadie got a lot of dolls, and clothes, but I think this is her most favourite.

Kids 1st Swimming Lessons

On Marc 21st, Sadie and Conner went to there first swimming lesson. We went to the Swimplex in   Elmira (which I haven't been to since its been built) and its AMAZING.... anyways back to the kids. Sadie and Conner were super excited.
We went to get them changed in the change rooms, gave them a "shower" and they were ready to go. Sadie was right away into it, she met the lifeguard that will be teaching them (I was lucky enough to get them into the same class) and was ready to learn. Conner on the other hand DID NOT want to participate what so ever.
Tom stood on the side lines with him to see if Conner would warm up to the idea. After half way thru lessons Conner found a lifeguard to his liking and he let her take him into the water.
Hopefully, when the kids go to lessons this Saturday, Conner will go with his sister and participate with his class.
